Repairs or Replacements, we are here for you!
Water Heaters typically last 6-9 years, but once they start to show signs of aging, it's a good idea to replace them with a new, more efficient one.
For a family of four, a 40- or 50-gallon model should be adequate. Base your choice on how well your current water heater is meeting your demand.
The normal design temperature of hot water in most plubing fixtures is between 140 and 150 degrees Fahrenheit. That's hot enough for most purposes but cool enough to prevent scalding of the skin.
If a heater tank is leaking, the heater must be replaced. There is no satisfactory repair for a leaking tank. If a relief valve is leaking, the relief valve may be replaced.
The repair or installation of a water heater unit requires a high level of experience in both the plumbing and electrical fields.
Water heaters are fairly simple, they are composed of a tank that contains heating elements on electric units or a burner assembly on gas units. Water enters one side of the tank, and comes out the other side heated on demand.
CAUTION: For your safety, DO NOT attempt repair of thermostat, burners, or gas piping. Refer repairs to qualified service personnel.
Reasons you may need a plumber:
Electric water heaters require 240-volt service, which might overload your service panel if you are replacing a gas heater with an electric model. They are cheaper to purchase than gas, but not to operate.
Note: The City of High Point offers a rebate on electric water heaters (up to $150.00) - Ask us how 883-4491
